After the completion of initial sessions, the results of KYBELLA® can be permanent. However, note that while KYBELLA® removes submental fat that is already present, new fat cells can form under the chin in the event of weight gain. Patients who maintain a stable weight after the procedure usually do not have to undergo retreatment.

We will work with you to customize your KYBELLA® treatment regimen, including how many treatments you need based on your desired chin profile. Most patients need at least 2 to 3 treatments, but up to 6 treatments may be administered based on desired results and what we collaboratively determine is safe and effective.

KYBELLA® does have some well-documented side effects. The most common are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness around the treatment area. Our experienced providers at Artful Aesthetics will discuss with you if you may be susceptible to any possible side effects and how to manage your expectations post-treatment.

You should not undergo KYBELLA® treatments if you’re pregnant, have or have had medical problems in the neck area, and are taking blood thinners. Ideal candidates will already follow a healthy lifestyle, as KYBELLA® cannot prevent the formation of new fat cells.
